| 01/1997 - 01/1998 | Bereichsleiter; Firma: Spillers Petfoods A/S, out sourced IT-department Right now in charge of a project in a bank that is going live in October (99) (this is very unique) and were we are building all the systems needed for e.g. card transactions, real estate loans, transactional data handling, fund handlings, archiving etc. There is also a data warehouse within the bank and our project. It contains various technologies like huge databases (terabytes), Oracle, MS SQL server 7, Powermart etc. Siebel SFA is one of the projects I have been in charge of and it contained various difficulties to resolve. These where considering the business processes in an appropriate way. Giving the company the support for making the right decisions with their own legacy systems. The system was interacting with older legacy systems and do therefore have to have interfaces to them together with scheduling programs. IT manager Scandinavia ? Managing the out sourced IT-department in Scandinavia ? Disposing over a resource pool with people if needed between the companies in Europe ? Managed one of the most time critical projects at the company and in the airline industry, automatic ticket handling, $1 600 000 / £1 million ? Also doing an account manager job beside my project manager job ? Responsible for Flight Academy and developing their IT structure ? Run 5 projects at a time ? 15 persons involved in projects, which I was in charge of ? Total turnover ca $4.5 millions/GBP 2.5-3 millions Information: Budget and personnel responsibilities for all projects Traveling mainly between Sweden, Denmark and Norway The environment was heavily based in network environment with communication as specialty. This meant working in a managerial non-hands on role with everything from CISCO routers equipment to Novell/Windows NT / UNIX / MAINFRAME servers. It did also mean working with Internet/Intranets solutions with Oracle databases, SQL databases etc. All kinds of systems exists in the environment like host systems, client-server solutions, office and back office systems, telephony systems etc I had to utilize and structure the ways of working for both network specialists as well as server and service specialists. This was to get the big projects running which meant discussing and question all kinds of agreements and ideas the people involved with came up with to get the most and best out of the solutions. Report to the board of directors about what I found out Economical analyses I made showed that improvements and cost cuts easily could be made if old equipment was replaced with new high capacity equipment I was in charge of one of the large stops taking place every year, which meant both heavy and thorough planning to utilize the contractors and not spend more than the 10 days allocated for the tasks. It did also mean an economical view of things since it meant spending £1 million in 10 days.
