webXcerpt Software GmbH (Customer: Coriant GmbH, Munich) Introduction of a Configure, Price, and Quote (CPQ) system based on Cameleon CPQ integrated into Salesforce CRM Coriant, a provider of hardware and software for optical transmission technology has been carved out of Nokia Solutions and Networks. Coriant uses cloud-based IT infrastructure for implementing their CRM system based on Salesforce. The configurator for their products is built using Cameleon CPQ and integrated into Salesforce. In the beginning, customer's requirements were analyzed, a CPQ vendor selected, and the scope of the project was refined with user repre- sentatives from all continents. The existing product models in the SAPbased configurator from Nokia Solutions and Networks had to be migrated to Cameleon CPQ. Selected product models were implemented as reference models which served as a blueprint for a modeling approach based on a specialized domain-specific laguage for defining product models and product-configuration rules and generation of code and data for Cameleon CPQ. All product models have been migrated using this approach. Model tests and user-acceptance tests have been performed. The go-live and international roll-out was successfully done in April 2014. The project is performed by an international and distributed team with members from several partner companies. From May 2014 onwards, the tasks for maintaining master data and product-configuration rules using the implemented product-modeling framework is handed over to an international team in the US and keeping a mentor role.
