The original 7.2 replication application used modified triggers to perform the required data flow that is incompatible with 7.3 and above. Due to performance problems with 7.2 an upgrade to 7.3 was a must. The transaction flow was modified by a PL/SQL application, ensuring that all transactions went through the HQ server thus eliminating the need for modified replication triggers. This was all achieved using Oracle on NT, in order to lift the replication load as well as the Developer 2000 based client server application most of the servers used 2 CPU's whereas the Depot and HQ servers used 4 CPU configuration.
