Company - IBM Ireland Ltd, 2 Burlington Road, Dublin 4 Position - Software Engineer I am working in OO solution development targeted at the insurance industry. Work to date, has involved all stages of the project lifecycle, including client engagement, design, development, test and rollout CIIS (Customer Information Integration Solution) V2.0 This is a multi-tier client server project. The application is a browser based Java GUI with OrbixWeb, connected to a middle tier server programmed in C++ with Orbix 2.3c. The back end is DB2 on MVS, accessed via CICS transactions. The first phase of the project was prototype development. This involved utilising a DB2/2 database (desktop machine), developing some basic middle tier objects using C++/Orbix on NT and a Java front-end application. I worked on all aspects of the prototype. The next phase was a browser based GUI based on HTML and JavaScript. This was used to develop some use cases and scenarios, and a possible look and feel. I worked on all aspects of this prototype. It was also demonstrated at a client project proposal, which I attended. Following this, an outline architecture was developed along with detailed design of services, based on participated on strategic architecture and design meetings. I am currently coding middle tier services using VC++ 5.0, Orbix2.3c and CICS Client Libraries. client specific requirements. I developed a data store adapter framework and CIIS V1.0 This application is a two tier, customer management tool. The application was initially developed on OS/2 using C++ and the IBM Open Class Libraries and later ported to NT, the back end was a DB2 database on MVS.
